Patch_t41b、'Surely They Won't'を公開

イングランド/ロンドン拠点のピアニスト・プロデューサー・ボーカリスト Patch_t41bが、6/17にDog Holiday Recordsからリリースしたニューシングル 'Surely They Won't'を公開！

7/15発売のEP『EP_02』収録曲。

サイケロックバンド Club Kuruのフロントマン、Okay Kayaのライブメンバーを経て、このソロプロジェクトを始めた人です。

フェティッシュな音像に包まった曖昧な感情、あわいのメロディー。計画的に仕上げたように聞こえるけど、以下にあるように案外即興なんですね。

“This tune was made spontaneously,” “We’d hit a bit of a wall in the studio and things had slowed down. On the seventh morning I was on my own at the piano, just playing this short, irregular chord sequence. I suggested we record a jam, didn’t give the band any instructions, and just started playing the sequence. They took it in their own direction from there.”

この曲は自然発生的に生まれました。スタジオでの作業が少し行き詰まって、作業が停滞していました。7日目の朝、私は一人でピアノの前に座り、短い、不規則なコード進行を弾いていました。ジャムセッションを録音しようと提案し、バンドには何も指示せず、ただそのコード進行を弾き始めたんです。そこからメンバーがそれぞれの方向へ発展させていきました。
