Will Orchard、'Something's Gotta Go'を公開

ニューイングランド出身ナッシュビル拠点のオルタナティヴフォークアーティスト Will Orchardが、6/18にリリースしたニューシングル 'Something's Gotta Go'を公開！

9/5発売のニューアルバム『Behind The Shadow Glass』収録曲。

ベースが入るタイミングとラストのギターソロが最高。

明日デビューアルバム『From Way Down Here』を発売するSSWでパートナーの Jess Kerberによるバッキングボーカルも魅力的。良い曲書いて同じ年にアルバム出して一緒にツアー行って、めっちゃかっこいいカップルです。

“Something's Gotta Go is a cathartic release, and an acknowledgement of self-inflicted pain. It's about getting into the pattern of never being satisfied with yourself, and defining yourself by external factors. These lyrics are some of the more loose, fun lyrics I've written. Calling the song finished was somewhat of a challenge because of how raw and in some ways, non-poetic it felt. But that's the spirit of the song, just putting it all out there and letting go of your will to try so hard.”

'Something's Gotta Go'は、心の浄化のような解放であり、自分で自分を傷つけてきたことへの認識でもあります。常に自分に満足できず、外的な要因で自分を定義してしまう、そんなパターンに陥ることについての曲です。歌詞はこれまで書いてきた中でも比較的自由で、遊び心のあるものになっています。でも、この曲を完成と呼ぶのは少し難しかったんです。というのも、生々しくて、ある意味では詩的ではないと感じたから。でもそれこそがこの曲の本質なんです。すべてをさらけ出して、「そんなに必死にならなくてもいいんだ」と手放すこと。
