イングランド/ロンドン拠点のオルタナティヴロックバンド moa moaが、7/2にSpeedy Wundergroundからリリースしたニューシングル 'Coltan Candy'を公開！
moa moaは James Ratcliffe, Connor James, Sophie Parkes, Dan Byrne, Matt Taylorの5人組。2019年夏に結成し、2020年にCouncil Recordsからデビューシングル 'Yellow Jacket'をリリースしたニューカマーです。
レーベルボス Dan Careyに送ったデモの中に入ってた20秒の素材が耳に留まり、初めて会ったその日のうちに13時間のセッションを行い完成した楽曲。前述のデビュー曲同様、耳に引っかかるフックの強さと多さが面白いバンドです。

The main hook of the song is the lyric 'Coltan Candy' which refers to a mineral that has been mined unethically for decades in Africa for the production of electronic circuits in the West. I’m making some pretty OTT comments about corruption, technology, and the failures of institutions in the West, but also asking some questions about our own involvement and inability to do anything about it.” - James Ratcliffe
