カナダ出身のオルタナティヴポップバンド SOUL PUSHが、11/8にリリースしたニューシングル 'Calypso'を公開！
SOUL PUSHは Conan Jurek, Andrew Dixon, Dallyn Hunt, Tim Morrisonの4人組。2013年にデビューEPを発表して以降、Kodaline, Cold War Kidsらのサポートや、世界中のフェスに出演してきたバンドです。
個人的にはネオンカラーの中でアンセミックなメロディを歌うバンドのイメージがあったのですが、9月に発売した2年ぶりのシングル 'Diamonds'でその印象がガラッと変わって、今回の曲はイントロで撃たれました。最初のワクワクがそのまま下がることなくじわじわ上がってく感じ、かっこいいね。

“’Calypso: KALYPSO (Calypso) was the goddess-nymph of the mythical island of Ogygiaand a daughter of the Titan Atlas. She detained the hero Odysseus for many years in the course of his wanderings after the fall of Troy.’ Calypso is a song that is all about the feeling of entrapment. In reference to the Greek goddess, this song represents the feeling one might have when trapped in a relationship that they can’t escape from and the almost hypnotic symptoms that might overcome you whilst in it.”
