コロラド州デンバー拠点のインディーロックバンド Mainland Breakが、6/6にリリースしたニューシングル 'I Give In'のMVを公開！
制作は Travis Rice。
Mainland Breakは Evan Oliver, Travis Rice, Kevin Kohl, Alex Arseneauの4人組。
The Feelies, R.E.M.に影響を受け、2019年にデビューEP『Short Stay』、2023年にデビューアルバム『One Way Ticket to Midnight』を発表。
車で旅に出たくなるような快活ギターロック。
““I Give In” is about experiencing warring emotions and feeling unable to change the process or eventual outcome. It’s about taking the path of least resistance and losing an internal struggle. The wave crashes over you, but also propels you. You love, but you hold yourself back from loving. Tension builds, but tension fades. You’re emotionally nimble, but emotionally shackled. You feel mobile, but you are stuck.”
'I Give In'は、相反する感情に翻弄され、自分ではその過程や結末を変えられないと感じることについての曲です。抵抗せずに流される道を選び、内なる葛藤に敗れる─波は押し寄せてきて自分をのみ込むけれど、同時に前へと押し出してもくれる。愛しているのに、自分自身を愛することから遠ざけてしまう。緊張は高まり、やがては消えていく。感情的には柔軟でいられるのに、同時に縛られている。動けるはずなのに、どこにも行けないように感じる─そんな複雑な心の動きを描いています。
