テキサス州オースティン拠点のインディーロックバンド Dress Warmが、5/1にリリースしたニューシングル 'Louisiana Purchase'を公開！
ベッドルームポップ然としていた雰囲気から徐々にシフトしているように感じさせる新曲。
レコーディング・プロデュース・ミックスは Charles Dahlke (The Brazen Youth)、マスタリングは Andrew Goldringが担当。
“Louisiana Purchase is a song about selling yourself to someone for very little without much in return because in the short term, it may seem beneficial. Much like the French sold the Louisiana territory to United States for such a low price in 1803. Although possibly a bit dramatic, the comparison draws from experiences in failed relationships, both romantic and platonic.”
'Louisiana Purchase'は、相手からほとんど見返りがないにもかかわらず、自分を安く売り渡してしまうことについての曲です。短期的には得に思えても、結果として損をする—1803年にフランスがルイジアナをアメリカに格安で売却した出来事になぞらえています。少し大げさに聞こえるかもしれませんが、この比較は、失敗した恋愛や友情からの実体験に基づいています。
