Daniel Trakell、'Into the Blue'を公開

オーストラリア/メルボルン出身のシンガーソングライター Daniel Trakellが、8/25にDumont Dumontからリリースしたニューシングル 'Into the Blue'を公開！

年内発売予定のセカンドアルバム『Into the Blue』のタイトル曲。

メルボルンから北西約100kmほど離れた田舎町モロンギップにある古い教会で、プロデューサー兼エンジニア Josh Barber (Gretta Ray, Gotye)と共にレコーディングを行い、マスタリングは Shawn Hatfield (Betty Who, Neneh Cherry)が務めてます。

映画『イントゥ・ザ・ワイルド』を観てインスピレーションを得たという魅力的な曲です。

“Lyrically ‘Into The Blue’ is about escaping and leaving everything behind. The phrase means to disappear into the unknown, vanish or leave without a trace. I had the song for a while, but didn’t quite know how to finish the lyrics. After re-watching the film Into The Wild (based on the story of Chris McCandless who disappeared into the Alaskan wilderness), the lyrics started to come together in a kind of re-telling of that story which resonates so much with me as it’s a topic I think about a lot. It’s also, I think, quite a hopeful song about taking some kind of risk or leap of faith in life and trusting that things will work out.” - Daniel Trakell

'Into the Blue'の歌詞は、逃避すること、すべてを置き去りにすることをテーマにしている。このフレーズは、未知の世界に消える、消える、跡形もなく去るという意味だ。この曲はしばらく前から持っていたんだけど、歌詞をどう仕上げたらいいのかわからなかったんだ。映画『イントゥ・ザ・ワイルド』（アラスカの荒野に姿を消したクリス・マッカンドレスの物語を基にした作品）を再見した後、歌詞はその物語の再話のような形でまとまり始めた。また、この曲は、人生におけるある種のリスクや飛躍を信頼し、物事がうまくいくことを信じるという、希望に満ちた曲でもあると思う。 - Daniel Trakell
