カリフォルニア州ロサンゼルス出身のアーティスト Daisy Hamel-Buffaによるソロプロジェクト DAISY WORLDが、3/22にBoom.Recordsからリリースしたニューシングル 'pho & cry'を公開！
4/26発売のデビューアルバム『TOOTHPICK』収録曲。
アルバムの共同プロデュースは Albert Jairo Gordon, Matt Emonson (Kali Uchis, Runnner)、演奏に Patrick Paige II (of The Internet), Waylon Rector, Justin Jackson, Matthew Fildeyが参加。
Steve Lacyや Tyler, the Creatorの楽曲参加、惜しくも解散したバンド DAISYでの活動、そして先月は地元のキャパ800近い会場 El Rey Theatreでヘッドラインショーを完売させるなど、初のソロフルレングスに向かって勢いが増す注目のニューカマー。
90年代の要素が散りばめられたソウルフルでグランジーなR&B。最高です。
“pho & cry is my ode to all the sweet 90s grunge pop ballads i grew up singing and swaying to. i wrote this about navigating walking away from something that you know you need to, while acknowledging that you’re going to be really hurting people that are important to you in the process. pushing yourself to grow while grieving what you’re leaving behind.”
