イングランド/ロンドン拠点のインディーロックバンド The Manateesが、1/5にFierce Panda Recordsからリリースしたニューシングル 'The Sound'を公開！
The Manateesは Jay Harris, Tyler Bloor, James Millerの3人組。影響を受けた音楽に Jungle, Wolf Alice, Beastie Boy, The Strokesを挙げるニューカマーです。
'The Sound'は4/14発売のデビューEP『Dream in Colour』収録曲。ストレートなロックではないし Fierce Pandaっぽさでもない、他の曲が気になるサウンドです。
“‘The Sound’ captures the mood of the EP perfectly - frantically searching for meaning or direction, with a hunch it might not be too far away,” “We can be fatalistic, but we’re optimists at heart. The idea that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel is important to us. 'The Sound' features hip-hop samples, vocoders and trumpets. Our first time using brass, very exciting! Miller even managed to squeeze a note or two out himself. With some layering (and tuning) it ended up sounding quite convincing.”
