サウスカロライナ州出身の Jack Powell, Nick Carusosによるファンク・ソウルデュオ Hot Mustardが、10/31にOpus Thimble Recordsからリリースしたニューシングル 'Birdwatcher'のMVを公開！

近日発売予定のニューアルバム『Monster Season』収録曲。
メンバー以外に演奏で、 Jordan McLean (Antibalas), Dave “Smoota” Smith (TV on The Radio), Matt Bauder (Arcade Fire, Father John Misty), AJ Hall (John Cleary and the Monster Gentlemen, Left Field Drum Breaks)らが参加。
ジャズファンク、サイケデリックソウル、ブーンバップ周辺の激渋セッションと特徴的なビジュアルで独特のポジションを獲得した2人組。いつものように参加ミュージシャン多めで、今後のラインナップと収録曲が気になります。
“It’s really just a simple allegory about getting caught up and losing sight of one’s passions; these things tend to unintentionally draw from deeply personal experience. For Hot Mustard, I try to strike a balance between ‘enjoyable to watch’ and ‘thought provoking’, ideally it invokes some kind of introspection, but doesn’t necessarily demand it.
