Dayglow, Wallowsのカバー曲で注目を集めると、Bastilleのオープニングアクトを務め、Treefort Music Festに出演するなどライブの評判も上がって絶好調の2人組。今回のアルバムでは以前からファンを公言していた The Shinsのフロントマン James Mercerが収録曲 'Kitchen'に参加してます。
長くなりすぎた夏のBGMにぴったりのやつ。以前、'Replay (Lounge)'の時にも書いたけど、彼らの曲には時期に関係なくなぜか夏を感じる。
“The line “He’s just thinking what she won’t say,” kind of sums up the whole song. It’s about not wanting to come to terms with the inevitable. Sometimes it feels like we spend our lives outgrowing spaces, always moving. We create these patterns and expectations for ourselves and others. Things can be so sweet and then in the blink of an eye, they’re not. In a way it is a love song, it’s an ode to the ‘here and now’ before it vanishes. A lot of times these intimate relationships we have with people live short lives in these social terrariums. When you’re sealed to the point that it inhibits growth, eventually something has to change. You change or they change or the whole thing just blows up.
