カナダ/モントリオール拠点のオルタナティヴポップアーティスト Christian Seanが、5/20にBonsoundからリリースしたニューシングル 'Saint Loreto'のビジュアライザーを公開！

アヴァンポップとエレクトロニックミュージックの融合をさらに深化させて即効性に特化。音数増やしてレイヤーにする方じゃなくて、原色をドーンってぶつけて混色がどう見えたかは各々に委ねるわ的な。

そんなトラックの方向性に対して、ボーカルは昨年のデビューアルバム『Hallelujah Showers』でみせた緻密な編集で楽曲の芯を担ってるのがいいね。

“I was reading Kelefa Sanneh’s book Major Labels: A History of Popular Music, and thinking about the nature of pop and how it didn’t really exist as its own genre until the 1980s, when it was pioneered by a handful of producers using synths and primitive drum machines” “I wanted to pay respect to that organic electronic approach in the studio, and make my own version of a pure pop song with an updated vision.”

ケレファ・サンネの著書『Major Labels: A History of Popular Music』を読んでいて、ポップというジャンルが1980年代にシンセや初期のドラムマシンを使った少数のプロデューサーによって初めて確立されたことを考えていたんです。そのオーガニックなエレクトロニック・アプローチに敬意を込めて、現代的なビジョンで自分なりのピュアなポップソングを作りたかったんです。
