ウェールズ/レクサム出身のインディーポップバンド Kidsmokeが、5/5にLibertinoからリリースしたニューシングル 'I'm Always Getting Carried Away'を公開！
ドラマ『ブラック・ミラー』で楽曲が使用され、Robert Smith (The Cure)がキュレーターを務める Meltdown Festivalに出演し、2020年にデビューアルバムを発表。
活動自体は続けていたものの、新曲リリースは5年振りで、ギターボーカル Lance Williamsが認知症支援グループを訪れた経験にインスピレーションを受けているとのこと。
余計な装飾のないサウンドで、気持ちを高揚させる音楽です。
“The lyrics came really quickly and are built around the song’s title, playing with the meaning of being ‘carried away’, whether it be emotionally or physically.” “It was both beautiful and heartbreaking,” “It made me appreciate how our memories bind us together… I think I was trying to highlight how precious the little moments are.”
歌詞はあっという間にできて、曲のタイトルを軸に"carried away"という感覚、つまり感情的にも肉体的にもそういった意味合いを表現しています。美しくもあり、同時に胸が張り裂けそうになるほど辛い経験でした。記憶がいかに私たちを結びつけているかを改めて感じました。小さな瞬間がいかに尊いものかを強調したかったのだと思います。
