マサチューセッツ州ボストン拠点のインディーロックバンド Viruetteと、同郷のベッドルームポップアーティスト Layziが、6/24にリリースしたコラボシングル 'PUNKTURED'のMVを公開！
ディレクターは Jimmy Del Ponte。
Arctic Monkeysのようなシンプルかつ太いリフで登場したかと思えば、Tame Impala風のメロウな雰囲気まで繰り出す面白さ。折衷的な表現を盛り込む Viruetteらしさがあるし、夏にぴったりのテイストですね。
3月に of Montrealの前座、5月に Boston Calling出演、6月に Coolhand Jax, Viruetteとコラボ曲発表という Layziの快進撃が止まりません。
“Our first album was filled with songs about analysing moments from some remove. PUNKTURED is about inhabiting the beating heart of a moment, as two characters heed the call of the expansive Friday night that lays in wait for them. I wanted the song to slink, and embody a sense of yearning anticipation, detailing the inner monologues of the song’s two perspectives as they toss and turn at 11PM on a Thursday”
僕たちのファーストアルバムは、少し距離を置いて過去の瞬間を分析するような曲が多かった。でも'PUNKTURED'は、その瞬間の鼓動のど真ん中に入り込むような内容なんです。2人の登場人物が、彼らを待ち構える広大な金曜の夜の誘惑に応じていく様子を描いています。この曲には、じわじわと忍び寄るような雰囲気と、切実な期待感を込めたかった。木曜の夜11時、眠れずに寝返りを打つ2人の内なる独白を、それぞれの視点から描いています。
