Upupayāma、'Mystic Chords of Memory'を公開

イタリア/パルマ拠点のサイケデリックロックアーティスト Upupayāmaが、3/5にFuzz Clubからリリースしたニューシングル 'Mystic Chords of Memory'のビジュアライザーを公開！

5/29発売の4thアルバム『Honesty Flowers』収録曲。

Upupayāmaはマルチインストゥルメンタリスト Alessio Ferarriによるソロプロジェクト。

サイケロックと世界各地の伝統音楽を融合させた独自のグルーヴを展開し、2021年にデビューアルバム『Upupayāma』を発表。音源では1人でシタールやフルート、パーカッションなど全ての楽器を演奏し、ライブでは6人編成のバンドスタイルをとっています。

“Honesty Flowers was born from listening to lots of funk music from all over the world, lots and lots of African music, and from listening to myself as I spent whole nights playing all kinds of percussion instruments. I would fall into a sort of trance and play the same rhythm for hours on congas or on a djembe. It's an album that was born above all from the beauty of being able to narrate the unknown and recognise yourself in it, which could translate into telling stories and bringing them to life.”

『Honesty Flowers』は、世界中のファンクミュージックやアフリカ音楽を聴き、そして夜通し様々な打楽器を演奏しながら自分自身の音に耳を傾けることから生まれました。ある種のトランス状態に陥り、コンガやジャンベで何時間も同じリズムを奏でていたのです。このアルバムは、何よりも、未知の世界を語り、そこに自分自身を見出すことの美しさから生まれたものです。それは物語を語り、命を吹き込むことへと繋がるのです。
