Seasonal Falls、'Used to be fun'を公開

スイス出身のインディーポップデュオ Seasonal Fallsが、2/16にリリースしたニューシングル 'Used to be fun'を公開！

Seasonal Fallsはソングライター Roman Gabriel (The Kind Hills, The Dentals)によるレコーディングプロジェクトで、ボーカル・プロデュースで Andrew Pelletier (Fur Trader)が参加してます。

5/10発売のニューアルバム『Happy Days』収録曲。

昔は楽しかったっていう曲名でラストに「I don’t care when it is beer o'clock. Have a tea with me.」で締めるところが大人っぽくて好きです。

“'Used to be fun' is about becoming something that resembles a grown-up and how this process might be a bit of a struggle. Not only for the protagonist, but also his/her friends (more likely his friends;). It's about how good, old friends might get upset if one is missing more and more parties and always has to consider a partner or maybe even kids. The one with increased responsibilities might call this process 'growing-up', the others might just feel that person is becoming increasingly lame and boring. Both sides are probably right. Between us, the protagonist mentioned above is the writer of the song. Keeping party friends and family happy at the same time became increasingly difficult and some growing up was necessary. It wasn’t easy, but the new way of life is just as rewarding and it seems that most people, sooner or later, have to face that challenge.”

'Used to be fun'は、大人に似たものになること、そしてその過程がちょっとした葛藤であるかもしれないことを描いている。主人公だけでなく、その友人たち（というより彼の友人たち）にとっても。パーティーを欠席することが多くなり、常にパートナーや子供のことを考えなければならなくなると、仲の良い昔からの友人たちは動揺するかもしれない。責任が重くなった人はこのプロセスを『成長』と呼ぶかもしれないし、他の人はその人がますますダサく退屈になっていると感じるかもしれない。どちらの意見もおそらく正しい。ここだけの話、上記の主人公はこの曲を書いた人だ。パーティーの友人や家族を同時に満足させ続けることは次第に難しくなり、ある程度の成長が必要になった。それは簡単なことではなかったが、新しい生き方は同じようにやりがいがあり、たいていの人は遅かれ早かれその難題に直面しなければならないようだ。
