イングランド/ロンドン出身のインディーロックバンド Sea Girlsが、6/14にAlt Recordsからリリースする『Midnight Butterflies』より、先行シングル 'Polly'のMVを公開！

ユニバーサル傘下のポリドールから離れ、Believe UKと組んで自主レーベル設立。という背景がありつつ、ポップなロックを高らかにカマしてるところが今っぽい気がするバンド。メジャーvsインディーなんて古臭い構図は興味ないし、物事にはグラデーションがあってそういう話でもないだろうけど、いずれにせよ手綱をぎゅっと掴んでる感じがいい。なんか妙に好きなんだよね、このバンド。
“Simply, ‘Polly’ revolves around being besotted with someone. At the time I was talking about how some of the early Beatles stuff, like “Girl”, lyrically felt like a Drake song and how modern some of the phrasing still felt. So I was kind of inspired by those Beatles melodies and matter of fact lyrics, like “I wanna hold your hand”. Nothing that’s gonna change the world, just something simple, exciting and relevant day to day. We had a lot of fun delving into the feeling of being dumbstruck by someone to the point of not being able to speak. From a Beatles-y start point through to touching on a bit of Nirvana and Drake it feels like we landed with a Steve Lacy sort of vibe for Polly.” - Henry Camamile
