Sam Salmon、'Waste Your Time'のMVを公開

カナダ/フレデリクトン拠点のオルタナティヴカントリーアーティスト Sam Salmonが、10/21にForward Music Groupからリリースしたニューシングル 'Waste Your Time'のMVを公開！

Sam Salmonは、オルタナティヴロックバンド Motherhoodのメンバー Brydon Crainによるカントリープロジェクト。

'Waste Your Time'は11/21発売のデビューアルバム『Down For Life』収録曲で、Motherhoodの残り2人と delta doomのギタリスト Keith Hallettが参加してます。

Motherhoodは、荒々しいのに折衷的な表現を含んでいて演奏が上手いスリーピース。簡単にいえばそんな感じのバンドで大好きなので、以下のリンクからそっちもチェックすることをおすすめします。

“I wrote Waste Your Time shortly after my grandfather died in 2017,” “I was pretty off the rails at the time so being home for the funeral and around my family was nice in that weird way that funerals can be nice. My great uncle took me around the cemetery and told me stories about our relatives who are buried there, he said one of them was the last man to be hanged in Woodstock, New Brunswick. I wrote the first couple verses of the song at my parents’ place during that time and later I got some help from my dad on the third verse.”

'Waste Your Time'は、2017年に祖父が亡くなった直後に書きました。当時はかなり調子が悪かったので、葬儀のために家にいて家族と一緒にいられたのは、葬儀ならではの不思議な心地よさを感じました。大叔父が墓地に連れて行ってくれて、そこに埋葬されている親戚の話を聞かせてくれました。そのうちの一人は、ニューブランズウィック州ウッドストックで最後に絞首刑に処された人物だと言っていました。この曲の最初の数節は両親の家で書き、その後、3番目の節は父の助けも借りました。
