Lazy Queen、'Unemployed, Uninspired'を公開

ノルウェー/オスロを拠点に活動するパンクロックバンド Lazy Queenが、4/4にIcons Creating Evil Artからリリースしたニューシングル 'Unemployed, Uninspired'を公開！

5/30発売の『Mixtape: Lost, Never To Be Seen Again vol. 1』収録曲。

今年は前述の初期の素材を新たに録音したミックステープ、来年はニューアルバムのリリース予定がすでに決まってて忙しくなりそうです。

“Unemployed, Uninspired is, in my mind, the musical equivalent of screaming fuck-off-and-let-me-self-destruct-in-peace into one’s pillow. We wrote it in 2017 and had it as a regular part of our live-set at the time, but never got around to recording it. Fittingly, I'm back to being unemployed at the moment, so this EP is a natural release for the track to finally appear on. Despite, or perhaps because of, its overt darkness and cynicism, it’s such a fun and cathartic song to play and simply surrender oneself over to. Thematically, it might not be the healthiest mindset, and I’m pretty sure my therapist wouldn’t approve, but sometimes you gotta remember the eternal words of Shrek: “better out than in, I always say”.” - Henrik García Søberg

'Unemployed, Uninspired'は、僕の中では“お願いだから放っておいてくれ、静かに自己破壊させてくれ”と枕に向かって叫ぶのと同じような音楽だと思ってる。2017年に作って、当時はライブセットの定番だったけど、録音する機会がなかったんだ。今ちょうどまた無職に戻ってるタイミングだから、このEPでようやくこの曲をリリースできるのは自然な流れだった。その露骨な暗さとシニシズムのせいか、あるいはそれゆえに、この曲を演奏するのは本当に楽しくてカタルシスがある。テーマとしては健全な心持ちとは言えないかもしれないし、たぶん僕のセラピストも賛成しないだろうけど。でも時にはシュレックの名言を思い出すべきなんだよね。「出す方がいいに決まってる、っていつも言ってるだろ」ってさ。 - Henrik García Søberg
