スウェーデン出身のサイケデリックロックバンド He-Man Stradivariusが、8/12にORDからリリースしたデビューシングル 'Meatballs'を公開！
He-Man Stradivariusは Henry Moore Selderを中心に結成されたバンドで、Marcus Holmberg, Niklas Korssellを含む3人組。90年代後半に活躍した Komedaのメンバーが在籍しているという驚き。
さらにゲストミュージシャンとして John Eriksson (Peter Bjorn & John, Hortlax Cobra), Christian Gabel (Bob Hund), Joel Danellが参加。
前情報なしでジャケを見たときは正直あまり期待してなかったのですが、再生ボタンを押したらマカロニウェスタンのOST的なファンキーさを持つアンサンブルに大興奮でした。超かっこいい。
今回のシングルは4枚連続リリースの第一弾で、来年にはそれらのボックスセットとアルバム『Pumping Irony』を発売予定とのこと。
“He-Man Stradivarius was born after a period of serious illness, out of a want to return to playing and recording music live as opposed to the studio experiments and more electronic approach that I had had been doing in the last years. It all started out as a loose jam based on tracks I had made on the computer while travelling for work in different parts of the world.
