イングランド/ロンドン拠点のパンクロックバンド Freshが、3/19にSpecialist Subjectからリリースしたニューシングル 'Merch Girl'を公開！
Freshは Kathryn Woods, Joely Smith, George Phillips, Daniel Goldbergの4人組。
2017年にデビューアルバム『Fresh』を発表。これまでに The Beths, PUP, Adult Mom, Jeff Rosenstockと共演し、Manchester Punk Festival, 2000 Treesなどのフェスに出演してます。
'Merch Girl'は4/19発売のEP『Merch Girl』タイトル曲。
2022年のアルバム『Raise Hell』以来となる新曲。今月は Teenage Halloween、6月には Los Campesinos!とツアーを行う勢いのあるバンドです。
“Merch girl is about living in that space between wanting something and achieving something. It’s kind of a character song, about somebody that is involved in music - but not in the way that they want to be, and they’re frustrated by that. At the beginning of the song, they’re watching from the sidelines, but as the song progresses they make the decision to create their own art. It’s a bit tongue-in-cheek, drawing from clichés of the wallflower, the sidekick, but ultimately it’s empowering and a reflection on the ways that we come into our own as women artists.” - Kathryn Woods
