ノルウェー/オスロ拠点のインディーポップバンド Divestが、9/4にSellout! Musicからリリースしたニューシングル 'Who You Are'を公開！
イントロで鮮やかに勝つバウンシーなノリとキャッチーなメロディ。リピート前提の素っ気ない構造と尺もむしろ良い。どことなく初期Phoenixや00年代前半の雰囲気があって好きだな。なんか見覚えある顔と思ったらPelicatの人なのね。納得。
デビューアルバムのリリースを控えてるとのことなので引き続きチェックしていきます。
“Who you are is a song about how stressfull it can be when you start thinking about your own identity, and what other people think of you. It’s like an obsession with being something in particular instead of just being human. I guess the chorus is where we try to go into this feeling of no judgment and letting people and things be just the way they are.”
