ペンシルベニア州フィラデルフィア拠点のインディーフォークアーティスト Michael Cormier-O'Learyが、2/25にDear Life RecordsからリリースしたEP『Proof Enough』より、'Del'を公開！
父方の祖父にちなんで名付けられた楽曲。今回のEPのために最初に書いた歌で、自身の父親との思い出にインスピレーションを得たとのこと。
家族や家庭のあらゆる一面を切り取った様子。沈黙の中に親密さと繋がりがあり、他者だけでなく自分を守ることにもなり得る一節「Silence means safety / From all the harmful / Words he could say,」とか。ある種の気まずさが垣間見えるジャケもいいね。

言葉には出さずとも、実際には話せない二人の間に、ある種の絆が生まれることがある。二人は同じ歌を内面化しています。
