デンマーク拠点のオルタナティヴロックアーティスト REXENが、9/19にStunt Recordsからリリースしたニューシングル 'Hollywood'のリリックビデオを公開！
制作は Yellow1。
REXENはシンガーソングライター・コンポーザー・パフォーマー Michael Rexenによる名義。
Rhythmic Music Conservatoryで作曲の修士号を取得し、M. Rexen, Den Magnetiske Ørn, A Key Is A Key, VS DOOMなどの名義で計6枚のアルバムを発表。Roskilde, SPOT, Copenhagen Jazz Festivalといったフェスや世界各地でライブを行なってます。
'Hollywood'は、共同プロデューサー・ドラマーに Silas Tinglef (Trentemøller, Kira Skov)、その他の演奏に Sasha Agranov, Henry Gibbs, Anders Christensen, Maria Jagdが参加し、ミックスは John Parish (PJ Harvey, Sparklehorse)が担当。
スタジオでの即興演奏から始まり、歌詞もメロディーもすべてその場で自然に生まれたものとのこと。どことなくゴシックな雰囲気から1:44への切り替えがかっこいい。

Hollywood doesn’t just represent glitter and facelifts, but also human trafficking, sexual exploitation of minors, oppression of women, racial discrimination, etc. Slavery still exists in our world, and it is especially in places where wealth and flashiness make up the façade that people are exploited,” “Besides being a political activist, I am a warrior for the full chest – for those moments when you truly feel life, when you look into a child’s eyes, or when you can be of service to your fellow human beings. More of that. I fight for balance to be maintained, in the hope that my work can inspire more compassion for our fellow beings and healthier, fairer economic systems,”
