Rupert Cox、'The Nowhere Dance'を公開

イングランド/ロンドン拠点のピアニスト・ソングライター Rupert Coxが、9/14にAlbert's Favouritesからリリースしたニューシングル 'The Nowhere Dance'を公開！

11/24発売のデビューアルバム『Search Party』収録曲。

Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusamaの広告キャンペーンの一環として使用された楽曲で、有機的な音の質感と反復の心地よさは Bibio, Gold Pandaが好きな人におすすめです。

プロデュースは、この夏に素敵なアルバム『Sidekick』を発表した Chris Hyson (Jordan Rakei, The Magic Lantern)。参加ミュージシャンは Linus Fenton, Davide De Ros, Yusuf Ahmed, Alex Haines。

“The Nowhere Dance” is inspired by an Alan Watts Lecture. It had a big impact on me when I first heard it. This line in particular lodged itself in my head: “[Life] is a dance, and when you are dancing you are not intent on getting somewhere… The meaning and purpose of dancing is the dance.” The track came about from little nesting loops I worked out on the piano which we then built up in the studio into what I hope is a joyous “floor filler”.

'The Nowhere Dance'は、アラン・ワッツの講演にインスパイアされたものだ。初めて聴いたとき、大きな衝撃を受けた。特にこの一節が私の頭に残った：「人生とはダンスであり、ダンスを踊っているときは、どこかにたどり着こうとは思っていない......ダンスの意味と目的は、ダンスなのだ」。この曲は、私がピアノで作った小さなループの入れ子から生まれ、それをスタジオで作り上げて、楽しい「フロアフィラー」に仕上げた。
