Youth Sector、'God's Work'を公開

イングランド/ブライトン出身のインディーロックバンド Youth Sectorが、3/26にDance To The Radioからリリースしたニューシングル 'God's Work'を公開！

9/19発売のデビューアルバム『Pop Couture』収録曲。

DEVO, Talking Headsにインスピレーションを受けたサウンドで快進撃を続けてきた彼らの待望の初フルレングス。アルバムはセルフプロデュースで、ミックスは Richard Wilkinson (Bombay Bicycle Club, Spector)が担当。

この夏は Kaiser Chiefs, Tape Toyのサポートをやりつつ、フェスも続々決まっているそうで目にする機会が増えそうですね。

“God's Work was built up from a drum/synth loop that Nick S came up with, and it instantly felt distinct from anything that we've done before while also feeling like a totally natural fit alongside the rest of the album material. Nick took a lot of inspiration from hip-hop while making the beat so we tried to adhere to that style in the track arrangement, keeping as much of the original loop as possible in each new section of the track there's a one-note percussive synth part that literally never stops from start to end. The album as a whole has felt like a long time coming for us and it hasn't been easy to get to this point, so 'God's Work' is a kind of outpouring of relief and satisfaction, allowing yourself to take pride in the results of hard graft.” - Nick Tompkins

'God's Work'は、Nick Sが作ったドラム／シンセのループを基に構築された曲で、これまでの作品とは明らかに異なる雰囲気を持ちながらも、アルバム全体の流れに自然に溶け込む仕上がりになりました。Nickはこのビートを作る際にヒップホップから多くのインスピレーションを得ていたので、私たちもそのスタイルを意識し、トラックのアレンジでは可能な限りオリジナルのループを維持しました。曲の全編を通して、絶え間なく鳴り続けるワンノートのパーカッシブなシンセパートが特徴的です。アルバム全体が長い時間をかけて作り上げてきたものであり、ここまでたどり着くのは決して簡単ではありませんでした。だからこそ、'God's Work'は、努力の成果を誇りに思い、安堵と満足感を解放するような楽曲になっています。 - Nick Tompkins
