イングランド/ロンドン拠点のエクスペリメンタルポップアーティスト Yodasheが、2/29にArkesineからリリースしたニューシングル 'FAM'を公開！
YodasheはRedbull Music Academy卒業生で、これまでに Sonar, Todays Art, Reworksなどのフェスに出演してます。
'FAM'は近日発売予定のデビューアルバム収録曲。ドラムに Diego Torres-Cantúが参加し、ミックスは Mathew Keightley、マスタリングは Cicely Balstonが担当。
空間的な広がりと配置がユニークで、細かい変化があるから単調じゃないのがかっこいいですね。ちなみにシンセの音はオリジナルのEDP WASPとのこと。
“The title ‘FAM’ (short for “Family”) carries a two-fold reference: on one hand, the jubilant experience of making music as part of a vibrant music-making community and ‘extended family’ (at Goldsmiths University) but also phonetically hints to the French equivalent for “Woman” (“Femme”) to indicate the track's core conceptual references. ‘FAM’ is an ode to spontaneity, playfulness, femininity and the beauty of living in the moment. The French lyrics of the verses are heavily inspired by the existential monologues and explosive characters of the female protagonists in Jean-Luc Godard's French New Wave films. Tapping into the fierceness, innocence and happiness of songs by Serge Gainsbourg, Françoise Hardy, Anna Karina, Brigitte Bardot, Jaqueline Taïeband Jane Birkin among others, the artist poses heavily existential questions in a nonchalant way only to subvert them few seconds laterthrough the focused and assertive focused pop choruses. Shifting between spoken word/freeform improvisation and pop-song format the work contrasts a pensive, existential mood with an explosive, assertive provocation urging listeners to grasp the moment and explore life and love to their fullest potential.”
