WRKHOUSE、'Out of the Blue'を公開

ウェールズ出身のオルタナティヴポップバンド WRKHOUSEが、4/5にリリースしたデビューEP『Out of the Blue』より、タイトル曲を公開！

WRKHOUSEは Lewys Meredydd Siencyn, Gethin Meilir Elis, Iestyn Jones, Ioan Brynの4人組。

すでにカーディフやロンドンの200人規模の会場でソールドアウトが続いてて、Lakefestなどのフェスに出演している注目のバンド。EP全体の完成度が良かったです。

“At this point [2023], we began spreading textural ‘easter eggs’ that bridged themes across the tracks. Voice notes of Gethin’s grandmother’s piano, recordings of the Wnion river in Dolgellau repurposed into pads, creaks and knocks from our childhood homes… they all add to the nostalgic atmosphere we’re trying to evoke in these songs. I (Lew) was obsessed at the time with electronic artists who blur the lines between the organic and otherworldly - the likes of Floating Points and Ross From Friends - and wanted to incorporate these half-real sounds into the band’s music.”

この時点（2023年）で、私たちはトラック全体にテーマをつなぐテクスチャーの "イースター・エッグ"を広げ始めた。Gethinの祖母のピアノのボイスノート、ドルゲラウのウニオン川の録音をパッドに再利用したもの、私たちが子供の頃に住んでいた家のきしみや音...これらはすべて、私たちがこれらの曲で呼び起こそうとしているノスタルジックな雰囲気を盛り上げている。私（Lewys）は当時、Floating PointsやRoss From Friendsのような、オーガニックと別世界の境界線を曖昧にするエレクトロニック・アーティストに夢中になっていて、バンドの音楽にこうした半分リアルなサウンドを取り入れたかったんだ。
