アイルランド/コーク出身のオルタナティヴロックバンド Ways of Seeingが、8/20にJoyful Hour Recordsからリリースしたニューシングル 'Cruel, Naturally'を公開！
Microdisney, Whipping Boy, The Radiators from Space, Rollerskate Skinnyなど、アイルランド産ロックバンドの影響を受けてきた4人組。
シューゲイザーとポストパンクの要素を組み合わせた、陰鬱で知的なアンサンブル。2:51から始まるパートが特に好きです。
“‘Cruel, Naturally’ explores the idea of inherited trauma—the emotional patterns and unresolved wounds that pass from one generation to the next, often without intention or awareness. It was inspired in part by Philip Larkin’s This Be The Verse — the song delves into the tension between empathy and burden, love and legacy.”
'Cruel, Naturally'は、世代を超えて受け継がれるトラウマ―意図や自覚のないまま伝わっていく感情のパターンや癒されない傷―という考えを探求しています。この曲はフィリップ・ラーキンの「これも詩であれ」にも一部触発されており、共感と重荷、愛と遺産のあいだにある緊張に深く踏み込んでいます。
