ユタ州ソルトレイクシティ拠点のインディーポップバンド The Mellonsが、11/8にEarth Librariesからリリースしたニューシングル 'Tell Me Why'を公開！
サイケデリックでノスタルジックな空気感をまといながら、パワーポップやバロックポップを演奏する良質バンド。
'Tell Me Why'は、8月発表 'Please Baby Please'と合わせて7インチも同日発売された楽曲。このリリースを知らずに前回の記事で「7インチで聴きたい風合い。」って書いたから、出るって聞いてなんか嬉しかったです。
“I wanted to convey the feelings of not knowing what’s right or wrong in a relationship. A damned if you do, damned if you don’t kind of sentiment. The things we don’t say to each other, even if we’re feeling it in our hearts. There’s a little bit of my own experiences, married with the mystery of a song. A love letter to the unknown.” - Denney
人間関係において何が正しいのか、間違っているのかわからないという気持ちを伝えたかった。やればやるだけ損をする、やらなければやらないだけ損をするみたいな感情。たとえ心の中で思っていても、お互いに言わないこと。私自身の経験も少し含まれていて、それが歌のミステリーと結びついている。未知なるものへのラブレター。 - Denney
