ニューヨーク/ブルックリン拠点のエレクトロニック・ポップアーティスト Sucrebloomsが、11/1にGrind SelectからリリースするEP『Take Time』より、タイトル曲のMVを公開！
制作は Ebony Davies。
Sucrebloomsはマルチインストゥルメンタリスト・プロデューサー・コンポーザー Erick Leeによる名義。以前は Modern Rivalsのフロントマンを務めていた人物です。
2021年発表のデビューEP『Outgrow』以来となる新曲。
前述の Modern Rivalsは、EPとアルバムを1枚ずつ出して消えたバンドですが、Pitchforkで称賛され日本盤も出して、Ra Ra Riot, Stars, The Black Keysらと共演するくらい魅力的でした。今は A Beacon School, Blue Canopy, Sucrebloomsとして、同じレーベルでそれぞれ良い音楽を作ってます。
“Most of the sounds in “Take Time” are made from clips of videos of my daughter who was three at the time, using granular synthesis and various forms of sampling. The song is about helping her process tough emotions, while we navigated a period where she was experiencing a lot of frustration and anger for the first time and we were learning how to deal with it together. It’s also about coming to terms with the fact that while I could do my best to guide her, there are some things that everybody needs to ultimately work through on their own, as painful as it may be.”
