Sisters、'Sweetness of Things'を公開

イングランド/リヴァプール拠点のオルタナティヴロックバンド Sistersが、7/23にリリースしたデビューシングル 'Sweetness of Things'を公開！

Sistersはシンガーソングライター Georgiana Genet率いる5人組。

Wolf Alice, PJ Harvey, The Cardigansなどに影響を受けて2024年に結成。

レコーディングは、エンジニア Ben Harper (The Mysterines, The Karios, The Sherlocks)と共に Motor Museum Studiosで行い、マスタリングは Graeme Lynchが担当。

今月23日から初のUSツアーを開始し、8月には alright (okay), Holly Headのサポートを務めるニューカマー。圧のあるサウンドと刹那的なボーカルが素晴らしいです。

“We wrote Sweetness of Things to capture the feeling of fading tranquility and peace one experiences when in an abusive situation. I have found many times in my life that abuse of any kind is oftentimes inflicted on people in order to control them in some way and convince them that they have less agency over their life then they actually do, and I think the anger of watching people I love be abused has built up inside of me. I hope this song makes everyone who listens to it feel angry, safe, and ecstatic.”

'Sweetness of Things'は、虐待的な状況の中で徐々に失われていく静けさや安らぎの感覚を捉えるために書いた曲です。私自身、人生の中で何度も感じてきたのは、あらゆる形の虐待がしばしば、人を何らかの形で支配しようとし、その人が本来持っている人生への主導権を小さく思い込ませるために行われるということです。そして、私の大切な人たちが虐待を受けているのを見てきた怒りが、自分の中に積み重なってきました。この曲を聴いたすべての人が、怒りを感じ、安心を感じ、そして高揚感を抱いてくれることを願っています。
