イングランド/ロンドン拠点のエレクトロニックポップバンド pecqが、11/14にUpcycled Soundsからリリースしたニューシングル 'out loud'のビジュアライザーを公開！
pecqは Nikò O’Brien, Hannah ‘Jakes’ Jacobsの2人組。DIY楽器を含むスタジオでの様子をインスタで見てから聴き始めた人たちで、今月はChartreuseのUKツアーのサポートを行なってます。
'out loud'は来年初めに発売予定のEP収録曲。
これまでのキラキラしたシンセポップは影を潜めて、トレンドのドラムンベースを取り入れたダークな趣。ぼんやりしたメロディーもかっこいいよね。2:05から始まるパートが特にお気に入り。
“‘out loud' is about the weight of keeping secrets. As a queer kid with loads of immune problems, I learnt to pretty early on hide a lot of myself for self-preservation and music was always my place to get stuff out. For me this song is about the way feelings get stranger and bigger the longer you bury them, and grow into a force of their own that move you forward despite everything.” - Jakes
'out loud'は、秘密を守り続けることの重さについて歌っている。免疫に問題を抱えたクィアな子供だった私は、かなり早い段階から、自己防衛のために自分の多くを隠すことを学んだ。私にとっては、この曲は、感情は埋めれば埋めるほど奇妙になり、大きくなり、何事にもかかわらず自分を前進させる力に成長するということを歌っている。 - Jakes
