“This song is about not doing some of the significant milestones that form part of adulthood. Consciously and unconsciously. Merrily living one's life and then suddenly feeling quite aware you haven't done those things. Feeling both invisible and highly conspicuous at the same time, which can be unbalancing; a sense of being off kilter when moving through the world. To me this song is like your working out page at school. I also wanted to use some of those images that remind me of my mother and her skills, her taking up hems, altering my clothes. I really love an outtro that goes somewhere else so this end section, even though it's repeating the same observations from earlier in the song, seem to take on a different meaning because the feel of the music changes to something more assertive and joyful. And the marimba part was very fun to play.”
