イングランド/リーズ拠点のオルタナティヴロックバンド KOYOが、8/2に88 Wattからリリースしたニューシングル 'La Cucaracha'を公開！
KOYOは Huw Edwards, Jacob Price, Layth Ibrahim, Tom Highamの4人組。
リーズ音楽大学の卒業生同士で組んだバンドで、2017年にデビューアルバム『KOYO』を発表。これまでに Reading and Leeds, Downloadなどのフェスに出演してます。
'La Cucaracha'は11/1発売のニューアルバム『Onism』収録曲。
初期衝動の1st、Mike Horner (Hot Chip, Franz Ferdinand)をプロデュースに迎えてより洗練された2ndを経て、怒涛のリフ祭りなプログレサイケゾーンに突入。これはいい。
“It’s hard enough keeping your head above water in this life and there’s value in simply staying afloat. On the one hand you don’t wanna let go of that spark, that boyhood dream and become another cog in the machine but on the other hand if you’re not careful you can fall into the trap of putting all your value in the rockstar dream. If you’re simply riding the mechanical bull, staying alive and keeping your ducks in a row then hats off to you for that. Not all of us wanna be the Instagram influencer!”
