親密な雰囲気と内省的なストーリーテリングが魅力のインディーフォーク。
自宅のアパートで録ったという素朴な質感ながら奥行きの感じられる音像と、優美な歌声の温かみのあるメロディーが素晴らしいです。
“Telephone is about trying to connect in a world that’s constantly shifting. It’s about feeling like you’re missing out. It’s about the tension between who we were and who we are becoming. It’s a reflection on my tendency to pacify the uncertainty of life by leaning into rhetoric like “if it’s meant to be, it’ll be” or my version, “it only happens when is has to happen”. It’s about coming to terms with the fact that there is no going back and realizing that even if I could, I wouldn’t.”
'Telephone'は、絶えず変化し続ける世界の中でつながろうとすることについての曲です。何かを逃しているように感じること、過去の自分とこれからなる自分との間にある緊張感を描いています。また、「なるようになるさ」といった言葉にすがって人生の不確実性を和らげようとする自分の傾向を振り返る曲でもあります。私自身の言葉で言えば、「物事は必要なときにしか起こらない」という考え方です。そして、もう後戻りはできないという現実を受け入れ、たとえ戻れるとしても、もう戻りたいとは思わないことに気づく、そんな曲です。
