イングランド/ロンドン拠点のインディーフォークアーティスト Ian Jancoが、1/12にRapture & Reverieからリリースしたニューシングル 'Close Your Eyes'を公開！
Ian Jancoはアイダホ州のロッキー山脈近くにある町で生まれ育ったシンガーソングライター・プロデューサー・マルチインストゥルメンタリスト。
10代の頃にカリフォルニアに移住し、コラボレーションミュージシャンとソロアーティストとして活動を開始。18歳のときに、路上ライブでヨーロッパを横断した旅行がきっかけでリヴァプールに移住し、ポール・マッカートニーが共同設立したLiverpool Institute for Performing Artsに入学。
卒業後に現在の拠点であるロンドンを中心にライブを行い、これまでに Emmylou Harris, Ward Thomas, Isaac Gracie, Lauren Daigle, Wildwood Kinのサポートを務め、作曲家としては JP Cooperなどの楽曲を手掛けるほか、映画やテレビ番組の音楽も書いてます。
'Close Your Eyes'は近日発売予定のEP『Reverie』収録曲。Bon Iver以降のモダンな表現がふんだんに散りばめられた雄大なフォーク・ソング。素晴らしい。
“This song arose in about 30 minutes during a writing session with two friends of mine - Toby Scott and Matt Sanchez. It seemed like a magical moment, and I remember clearly all of us looking at each other as we were working with the knowledge that something special was happening. I'd been traveling a lot and feeling this growing sense of unease - like I would never find a place that felt like home. Various spiritual epiphanies and experiences, as well as time spent practicing non-attachment, led me to the realization that home is within your self, within your body. I hope that this song finds people who feel alone, out of place, or restless and makes them feel comfortable, calm, and at peace.”
