イングランド/ロンドン拠点のアメリカーナ・フォークロックアーティスト Henry Graceが、6/18にAt Lastからリリースしたニューシングル 'Say Something Mean'を公開！
来週のGlastonbury Festivalに出演するシンガーソングライター。
21歳でカリフォルニアへ移住し、ロサンゼルス・サンフランシスコの小さなクラブやバーでライブを重ね、2022年にデビューアルバム『Alive In America』を発表。
共同プロデュースは Blaine Harrison (Mystery Jets)が務め、演奏に Brian Love, Toby Evangelou, Thomas Holderが参加。
“The whole thing was really built around the chorus ‘say something mean like it don’t mean a thing’,” “and it worked sitting at my kitchen table with just my voice and guitar, but it was not until I took it to the band and Brian started playing the opening riff that the song grew wings. I remember listening back to our set from Jazz Cafe and thinking it could be a single.”
すべては“say something mean like it don’t mean a thing”っていうサビのフレーズを軸にして作られたんだ。キッチンのテーブルに座って、声とギターだけで演奏していたときもうまくいってたけど、バンドに持って行ってブライアンがあのオープニングリフを弾き始めた瞬間に、この曲が羽ばたいたんです。Jazz Cafeでのセットを聴き返して、“これはシングルにできるかも”って思ったのを覚えています。
