イタリア出身のミュージシャン・プロデューサー・サウンドデザイナー Giunglaが、7/5にFactory Flawsからリリースしたニューシングル 'Distance'を公開！
Giunglaは Emanuela Dreiによる名義。10代の頃に地元のいくつかのバンドで演奏し、2016年から Giunglaとして活動を始め、これまでに The xx, Foals, Grimes, Franz Ferdinand, Battlesのサポートを務めてます。
'Distance'は今秋発売予定のニューアルバム『Distractions』収録曲。
グランジ風のエクスペリメンタルポップ。ギターリフとメランコリックなボーカルが良い感じで、特に後半のロックなアレンジがかっこいい。
“This song was born right after the pandemic. During those months I felt like I was looking at all the things that were part of my days only from a close and limited distance (the phone in my hands, the wall, the buildings around) and I realized that it had become completely impossible for me to imagine and visualize anything when I had my eyes closed. This feeling lasted for a while so it also became a song. Since I’m a runner, I have a particular relationship with the concept of distance intended also as something to reach, something to look forward to, something to be surprised by. On the cover of this single there’s a photo of a plastic bag “kit” containing some colored stones and the label has a quote from the song “feels like going away”. It’s a kit for skipping stones and a reminder that sometimes you need a certain distance to appreciate things, to see how far they will go and how many skips they will make.”
