Fright Years、'Dye Star'を公開

スコットランド/エディンバラ拠点のインディーロックバンド Fright Yearsが、9/18にLAB Recordsからリリースしたニューシングル 'Dye Star'を公開！

2月発売予定のEP収録曲で、プロデュースは Pete Hutchings (Royal Blood, Gang of Youths, The Amazons)が担当。

夢と希望に向かって突き進むポジティブな高揚感が清々しいバンド。

直近では Belle and Sebastianのサポートアクトを務め、グラスゴーの老舗 King Tut'sでの単独公演を3ヶ月前に完売させるなど勢いに乗ってる注目株です。

“Dye Star is the journey towards trusting your own vision and having the courage to stand by your decisions. Lyrically it questions how many versions of yourself there will be before you feel fulfilled, and why happiness can stem from something small on one day and be reserved for a grand vision of yourself on another. The song doesn't give an answer, because I don't have one yet, but repeating the question to the end, 'how do I know when I get what I want', makes the unknown feel brighter.”

'Dye Star'は、自分自身のビジョンを信じ、自分の決断を貫く勇気を持つための旅路を描いた曲です。歌詞では、満たされたと感じるまでに自分にはどれだけの自分の姿が存在するのか、そして、ある日は些細なことから幸せを感じられるのに、別の日には壮大な自己のビジョンに幸せを求めてしまうのはなぜなのか、といった問いを投げかけています。この曲は答えを提示してはいません。私自身、まだ答えを持っていないからです。しかし、「自分が望むものを手に入れたと、どうすれば分かるのか」という問いを最後まで繰り返すことで、未知の未来がより明るいものに感じられるようになるのです。
