サンシャインポップ、C86、Elephant 6とかの分かりやすい括りから、それ以降のあらゆるギターを使用したインディーポップまで、複数の要素を1曲の中に取り組むのが異様に上手いバンド。アルバムが楽しみです。
“The original title for the demo of this song was "Bruce" because I thought I was writing a Springsteen song. My goal starting out was to not overthink it and just make a straightforward rock song, but that didn't last very long and next thing I knew I was listening to three guitar tracks playing lead lines at the same time thinking 'what have I done'. Instead of reeling it back in I decided to just lean into it and when I found myself playing with an electronic drum pad I knew I was past the point of no return. I've always liked when songs use weaving guitar lines in place of fully strummed chords so I used that idea for the choruses and ended up with something that was either pretty sounding or just chaotic. That in mind I thought it would be neat to use the second verse as a sort of anchor for all that guitar movement by telling a short anecdote about someone leaving somebody an anonymous wordless voicemail, but being exposed by the background noises.” - Scott Huerta
