ノルウェー/オスロ拠点のオルタナティヴロックアーティスト Erik Flaaが、10/31にリリースしたニューアルバム『What Is Not』より、'Alarms'を公開！
2008年にデビューアルバム『Still That Bird Is Singing』を発表。その後、音楽業界から離れて今回が17年振りの新作。
レコーディングは、ストックホルムにあるスタジオ Atlantis Studioで、プロデューサー Georg Buljoと共に行なったとのこと。
ダウンテンポのムードに近い内省的なロックで、聴き応えのある作品です。
“"Alarms" is inspired by stories of war and displacement in my own family history. It tells of surviving while loved ones are lost — “No alarms to warn them” — and the guilt of carrying memories forward. Though rooted in the past, the song sadly echoes today’s realities, where civilians are still forced to flee, separated from family, and left with only grief and longing.”
'Alarms'は、私自身の家族の歴史にある戦争や避難の物語から着想を得ています。愛する人を失いながらも生き延びること―“No alarms to warn them”―そして記憶を背負い続けることへの罪悪感を描いています。過去に根ざした曲ではありますが、残念ながら今日の現実とも響き合っています。いまだに民間人が逃げることを強いられ、家族と引き離され、悲しみと喪失感だけを抱えて生きているのです。
