Earthware、'Juniper Hollow'を公開

オレゴン州ポートランド拠点のベッドルームポップアーティスト Earthwareが、2/28にリリースしたニューシングル 'Juniper Hollow'のビジュアライザーを公開！

Earthwareはミュージシャン Eli Wheelerによるソロプロジェクト。

2022年にバロックポップとボサノバにインスピレーションを得たデビュー曲 'Umbrellas and Parasols'を発表し、今回は大貫妙子や細野晴臣など70~80年代のシティーポップ、Phoenixや Passion Pitなど00年代のインディーポップにインスピレーションを得たとのこと。

影響に対する豊かな解釈とアウトプットの質が優れた人ですよね。年1曲のリリースペースだから動向が掴みづらいけど、今後の曲も楽しみにしてます。

“Juniper Hollow is a reminder to not place sole responsibility for my happiness on another person or thing external to me. Any sort of expectation like this has a bittersweet or sour side revealed when or if it's met. On some level I know this, but like anyone else I find myself falling for that mental trap constantly. You know, the sneaky, habitual "IF ONLY it was like this" type thinking that robs you of joy.”

'Juniper Hollow'は、自分の幸せの責任を、自分以外の他人や物に押し付けてはいけないということを思い出させてくれる。このようなある種の期待は、それが満たされたとき、あるいは満たされたとしても、ほろ苦い、あるいは酸っぱい側面を露呈する。ある程度はわかっているのだが、他の人と同じように、私は常にそのような精神的な罠にはまってしまう。「こうだったらいいのに」という卑屈で習慣的な思考が、喜びを奪ってしまうのだ。
