イングランド/ブリストル拠点のソングライター Ed Soles (Langkamer, Gork)率いるオルタナティヴカントリーバンド Ead Woodが、3/25にBreakfast Recordsからリリースしたニューシングル 'Emmeline'を公開！
Glastonbury, Left of the Dial, Ritual Union, Dot to Dotに出演し、Surf Curse, The Clientele, Dougie Poole, Oracle Sisters, Siv Jakobsen, Blood Wizardらのサポートを務めてきた実力派。
'Emmeline'は4/30発売のEP『Wild Water』収録曲。
『Wild Water』は、昨年発表のデビューアルバム『Cash Mountain』と同じソングライティングセッションから生まれた楽曲を収録した作品です。
Ead Wood & The Heights名義のサイケ・サーフ・インディーポップから、徐々にオルタナカントリー・フォークロックへ移行して、自分の独自性を掴まえた印象がありますね。シンガロングできるコーラスも素敵。
“I wrote Emmeline during a time when I was touring a lot and constantly heading off somewhere else. It made me think about what that experience must feel like for the person staying behind. The song is written from my partner’s perspective — that feeling of watching someone rush out the door again while life at home carries on. It’s about love, patience, and the quiet strength of the person who’s always there when you return.”
