2/19発売のニューアルバム『dasteWORLD』収録曲。
北米での初のヘッドラインツアーにライブバンドで挑み、Toraなどのサポートを務め、各種イベントに引っ張りだこだった昨年を経て、今年は初めから Still Woozyのサポート5本というビッグチャンス到来で、しっかり弾込めたリリースが続いてます。
“‘‘Tide’ is the tale of two songs really. On one of our writing trips we had written a song called ‘Tide’ which features the first verse and pre-chorus you’ll hear on this track. It had a slightly similar vibe, maybe a little more upbeat. Fast forward a month or so, I had uploaded an instagram reel of this particular bassline/beat I’d made and got a cool response from a lot of people, and we wanted to try to include the beat in the album somehow. Turns out the melodies from that original song fit perfectly and when trying to think of a new chorus, Tyler came to us with the ‘Baby won’t you back it up’ line and the rest was history. Ultimately, the lyrics and vibe reflect a longing to break free from pressures and find solace in fleeting, unstructured moments. There’s a pull toward exploring new spaces - both physically and emotionally, to rediscover clarity.” - Callum MacDonald
