ニュージーランド出身でベルリンを拠点に活動するデュオ Charity Childrenが、10/8にCharity Children Recordsからリリースしたニューアルバム『Almost Young』より、'She Still Wants You'のMVを公開！

Charity Childrenは映画監督兼ミュージシャン Chloë Lewer, Elliott McKeeの2人組で、2011年に結成してから路上ライブを中心に活動し、ファーストアルバムを1万枚近く販売した実力の持ち主。そして、恋愛関係の解消から数年の休止期間を経てリリースされたのが今作です。
前述の関係性の変化と、Leonard Cohen 'So Long Marianne'の歌詞に由来するアルバム・タイトル、もちろん内容含めてすごく良くて、このビデオの虚実入り交ざった雰囲気も好きだし、なんか映画「ビフォア」シリーズに近いものを感じました。
“One of the overarching themes of the album is giving the sort of unsolicited advice to friends that you should be following yourself. ‘She Still Wants You’ is an example of this. Although clearly written to someone else in a moralisting way about how that friend should be letting go of a fading love for the sake of another- I was at the time perpetrating the same sort of behaviour. It’s always easier to give advice than to take it and projecting outwards often clarifies my inward dilemmas, helping me take the advice I can so easily dish out.” - Elliott McKee
