オーストラリア/シドニー拠点のシンガーソングライター・プロデューサー Blain Cunneenが、7/4にリリースしたニューシングル 'Cruel'のMVを公開！
ディレクターは Harry Jackman, Blain Cunneen。
Blain Cunneenはジャズ、ソングライティング、音響実験にルーツを持つ人物。
2019年にデビューシングル 'Feelin' Kinda Fragile'、同年9月にデビューEP『The Prizes We Demand』を発表。プロデューサーとしては Beryl, Georgia Mulligan, Human Noiseといったアーティストを手掛けています。
'Cruel'は9月発売予定のデビューアルバム『Only Wanting』収録曲。

It plays like a raw diary entry, steeped in anger and jealousy, as the narrator grapples with being hurt by someone close. But beneath the bitterness lies a deeper reflection: the recognition that some of the healing has to come from within.”
歌詞の面では、'Cruel'は裏切りやトールポピー症候群、インポスター症候群を掘り下げています。まるで怒りや嫉妬に満ちた生々しい日記の一頁のように響き、語り手が身近な誰かに傷つけられたことに苦しむ様子が描かれています。しかしその苦々しさの奥には、癒しの一部は自分の内側からしか得られない、という深い気づきが潜んでいます。
