オーストラリア/メルボルン拠点のフォークロックアーティスト BATTSが、5/24にI Feel Fine Recordsからリリースしたニューシングル 'Sell You The Sun'を公開！
BATTSはミュージシャン Tanya Battによる名義。
これまでに Sharon Van Etten, Lucius, Cate Le Bon, Vika & Linda, The Teskey Brothers, The Magic Numbers, Nilüfer Yanya, Leif Vollebekkらと共にオーストラリアをツアーし、最近はBeth Ortonのサポートを務めた実力派。
'Sell You The Sun'は、Sharon Van Etten, Deep Sea Diverが参加した2022年発表のアルバム『The Nightline』以来となる新曲です。
“Sell You The Sun is another way of saying "Kill them with kindness". I wrote it whilst reading Jeff Tweedy's book 'How to Write One Song'. I sat down in the morning to do his "word ladder exercise" and my favourite phrases I'd put together that morning were - Greet & Elephant, Sell & Sun and Change & Hurricanes. I moved to my piano and wrote this song very quickly. It's very much so inspired by The Beatles and I finally got to create the middle 8 section I've always wanted.” - BATTS
