イングランド/ノーサンプトン拠点のインディーポップバンド Balterが、2/14にリリースしたデビューシングル 'Someone New'のMVを公開！
ディレクターは Balter, Sergio Uzun。
Balterは Tom Drury, Jake Lewis, Liam Kay, Jack Coxの4人組。
つい最近GCSEを受験したばかりというU18の若いバンドですが、すでに Alfie Templeman, Courtingのサポートを務め、4月には The Bluetonesと共演します。
'Someone New'のプロデュース・ミックスは Jonathan Hucks (Hallan, Orchards, Dream Nails)。
これぞジャングルポップなギターや間を埋めるベースライン、キャッチーなメロディーが素敵な初リリース。どうやらEPも出るっぽいので引き続きチェックしていきます。
“This is about the aftermath of a relationship and the overwhelming feelings of loneliness and regret. I wrote this song after a particularly painful break up and it’s based around the idea of wanting to change myself in order to be better for them. I wanted to be the ‘someone new’ rather than her finding that in someone else.” - Tom Drury
この曲は、恋愛が終わった後の孤独や後悔に押しつぶされるような感情について描いている。特に辛い別れを経験した後に書いた曲で、もっと相手にふさわしい自分になりたいという思いが根底にある。彼女が“誰か新しい人”を見つけるのではなく、自分自身がその“新しい誰か”になりたかったんだ。 - Tom Drury
