デンマーク出身のソウルアーティスト Malu Pieriniが、10/24にリリースしたニューシングル 'Bernard'のMVを公開！
Malu Pieriniはデンマーク系コルシカ人のシンガー。
クラシック音楽と現代音楽のバックグラウンドを持つ人物で、北欧のソウル・ポップスと1960年代のシャンソンを融合させたサウンドが特徴です。
'Bernard'は1月発売予定のデビューアルバム収録曲で、プロデュースは Nicholas Kincaid, Oliver Kincaid (Mina Okabe, Phlake, Scarlet Pleasure)。
自身のルーツと家族の歴史を深く掘り下げた作品。この曲は、コルシカ島の小さな山村で育ち、1960年代の活気あふれるパリでキャバレーの演出家を務めていたという祖父へあてた楽曲です。ちなみにこのMVも自分で作ってて、とても魅力的な風合いです。
“As a child, my mother always said I looked exactly like him,” “When I look at old photos, the resemblance is almost uncanny. I’ve always been fascinated by his colorful world, and I think I’ve inherited his love of storytelling — the urge to create spaces on stage for emotion. But the grandfather I knew was calm and gentle. He later developed dementia, so there are many questions I never got to ask him. ‘Bernard’ is my way of finding balance in his story and my own — and of understanding how much of him still lives within me.”
